Doors open at 8:15am at PISE, 4371 Interurban Rd.

This free, active and engaging workshop will help you learn ways to adapt movement skills for all kids and youth (elementary & middle school age), understand different parasport options that can include everyone, utilize behaviour support tools and build knowledge of ways to include strength and conditioning adaptations into classes for older ages. Everyone welcome: students, teachers, recreation leaders or health professionals.

KEYNOTE: Stephanie Dixon

Stephanie was born in Brampton, Ontario and moved to Victoria in 2003 to attend UVic and swim for the Vikes. She earned a BA in Psychology in 2009. Stephanie went on to compete in 3 Paralympics, winning 19 Medals including 7 Gold. She set multiple world records and is the current world record holder in 2 events.
An Ambassador for the Canadian Paralympic Committee and also for Canadian Tire Jumpstart, Stephanie is a CBC Sports Broadcaster for Paralympic Games, and was an Assistant Chef de Mission for Parapan American Games 2015. She currently runs a coaching business in Whitehorse focused on swimming, fitness and motivational coaching. Stephanie was inducted into Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame in 2016 and was honoured with appointment to the Order of Canada in 2018.
