Mike Gotuaco

Strength & Conditioning Coach

DC, CSCS

Recently joining us at PISE is Mike! Originally born and raised in Ontario, Mike along with his dog, cat and significant other are calling Victoria their forever home. Over the years Mike has been involved in health and performance in a variety of capacities. His interest in strength and conditioning was sparked during his time as a national level freestyle snowboarder and blossomed while studying physical health education at Queen’s University. This lead him to further his studies and pursue his Doctorate in Chiropractic Medicine in order to combine the elements of manual therapy and strength and conditioning to create a well rounded treatment plan for anyone suffering from movement related injuries.
Since then, Mike has bolstered his knowledge through taking additional training in the Selective Functional Movement Screen, rehab = training and functional biomechanics and movement assessment seminars. Throughout his brief tenure, Mike’s special interest is in young aspiring athletes. He is passionate about improving performance and resilience through developing a broad yet stable foundation to which young athletes can continue build upon throughout their athletic careers. Consequently, he has worked with a number of high performing young snowboarders, hockey, soccer, rugby and multisport athletes.
While performance athletics is exciting, at his core, Mike stands by the belief that ALL people are athletes. However, where we differ from those training at the highest level is not in the need to train but the degree to which we need to train. Thus, he is passionate about the opportunity to enrich lives of all athletes, young and old through strength and conditioning training.
