PISE Announces New Leadership
Co-executive directors bring expertise, vision for future of healthy living on South Island

(Victoria, B.C. October 29) The Pacific Institute for Sport Education (PISE) Board of Directors announced today the appointments of Stacey Lund and Chris Wright as the new co-executive directors of the organization.
The new leadership will further PISE’s vision of fostering a healthy, active community by ensuring the effective management and operation of the PISE facility, while continuing to prioritize inclusion, physical literacy, active living, and performance athlete development across South Vancouver Island.
“I am thrilled that Stacey and Chris are going to work together in an innovative and collaborative co-leadership model to further the goals of PISE,” said Board Chair Stephen Chang. “These appointments provide PISE with leadership excellence in business development, fundraising, high-performance sport, community engagement and physical literacy. The PISE community is in good hands as we look toward the future.”
The two co‑executive directors will take over leadership of PISE effective November 1, 2026, with the retirement of Robert Bettauer. Bettauer has been instrumental in PISE’s growth, stability, and reputation. His vision and dedication have shaped PISE into the strong, community‑focused organization it is today. A smooth leadership transition is underway.
Lund and Wright are longtime employees of PISE, bringing 18 and 14 years of experience respectively, and both have extensive experience in Victoria and the South Island. Lund will take on the role of Executive Director of External Relations and Administration, while Wright takes on the role of Executive Director of Sport and Community Services. Together, they will serve as the chief ambassadors and public faces of PISE and will continue to build trust and awareness of the critical role that PISE plays in promoting and advocating for physical literacy, active living and sport.
“PISE’s mission has shaped my career and my connection to this community, and I’m energized by the opportunity to help guide its future,” says Lund. “I look forward to working alongside Chris to deepen our relationships, expand our reach, and advance the work that makes PISE such a powerful force for health, sport education, inclusion, and community impact.”
Wright adds, “My role at PISE has always been about creating opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to be active, connected, and successful. After many years with the organization, I’m honoured to step into this role alongside Stacey and to help build on the strong foundation we’ve created together. I look forward to expanding the programs, partnerships, and experiences that help our communities thrive through sport and physical activity.”
The appointments come after a comprehensive leadership transition process overseen by the Board.
