Calum is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with a Master’s in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. He earned a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering before spending over a decade leading performance analysis for Rugby Canada. Calum’s recovery from multiple surgeries and the abrupt end of his playing career give him a lived understanding of how injury, change, and pressure shape an athlete’s well-being.
Calum’s work focuses on the emotional side of sport: navigating injury and recovery, managing anxiety and self-doubt, rebuilding confidence after setbacks, and finding balance during periods of transition. He also supports athletes in processing the internal conflicts that can arise when identity, expectations, and life outside of sport collide.
In sessions, Calum draws from ACT, EFT, and Narrative Therapy to help clients build awareness, flexibility, and practical coping strategies that support well-being both inside and outside of sport. His style is collaborative, empathetic, and grounded in creating a place where athletes feel understood, supported, and empowered to move forward.
During his time with Rugby Canada, Calum supported coaches and athletes at a wide range of pinnacle events including:
- 2011, 2015, and 2018 Rugby World Cups
- 2012-2022 Sevens World Series
- 2014 and 2018 Commonwealth Games
- 2015 and 2019 Pan-Am Games
- 2020 Olympics
