Kendra Pomfret

 MC, RCC.

As a former national team athlete and captain of the UVic Vikes’ Track and Cross Country Team, Kendra has a unique understanding of the psychological pressures and struggles that coincide with sport participation and managing difficult emotions. She brings this firsthand experience to her mental performance practice, where she helps athletes and teams develop the mental skills needed to excel in competitive environments. She believes that all humans have the capacity for wellness, healing, and growth, despite the adversities we face.

Kendra is passionate about empowering individuals to reach their highest potential through evidence-based mental performance techniques. Her work focuses on future-oriented, goal-driven approaches that help clients build mental skills in areas such as performance anxiety management, visualization and imagery techniques, concentration and attentional control training, pre-performance routine development, pressure-situation simulation, resilience building, goal-setting frameworks, self-talk optimization, arousal regulation strategies, confidence development, team cohesion enhancement, and cultivating a purpose over performance mindset. Think of her practice as a mental skills gym – designed to strengthen the mental muscles that drive athletic excellence.

Drawing on client-centered, collaborative, and strength-based approaches, Kendra brings a refreshing mix of patience, compassion, curiosity, and humour to each individually tailored session. She creates training environments where clients feel challenged yet supported as they develop practical mental performance skillsets that enhance their capacity to manage competitive environments. These skills not only translate to improved performance outcomes, but also enrich the overall sport experience, helping athletes find greater enjoyment, meaning, and fulfillment in their athletic pursuits.

Calum Ramsay

MACP, RCC

Calum is a former varsity athlete who spent 12 years supporting international and Olympic rugby players through high-pressure decisions and the emotional ups and downs of competitive sport. He understands the stress and uncertainty that come when sport collides with real-life challenges – insight shaped by his own recovery from serious injuries and the abrupt end of his playing career. Calum’s counselling style is warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practices that help athletes navigate anxiety, setbacks, transitions, and the moments when sport stops feeling manageable.

Calum is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with a Master’s in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. He earned a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering before spending over a decade leading performance analysis for Rugby Canada. Calum’s recovery from multiple surgeries and the abrupt end of his playing career give him a lived understanding of how injury, change, and pressure shape an athlete’s well-being.

Calum’s work focuses on the emotional side of sport: navigating injury and recovery, managing anxiety and self-doubt, rebuilding confidence after setbacks, and finding balance during periods of transition. He also supports athletes in processing the internal conflicts that can arise when identity, expectations, and life outside of sport collide.

In sessions, Calum draws from ACT, EFT, and Narrative Therapy to help clients build awareness, flexibility, and practical coping strategies that support well-being both inside and outside of sport. His style is collaborative, empathetic, and grounded in creating a place where athletes feel understood, supported, and empowered to move forward.

During his time with Rugby Canada, Calum supported coaches and athletes at a wide range of pinnacle events including:

  • 2011, 2015, and 2018 Rugby World Cups
  • 2012-2022 Sevens World Series
  • 2014 and 2018 Commonwealth Games
  • 2015 and 2019 Pan-Am Games
  • 2020 Olympics
